"We don't do Thanksgiving here so my poem is more general.
I think we sometimes forget what we actually have.

I think we sometimes forget what we actually have.

Be thankful
The world was complete with man’s needs well met;We had it all …and yet …and yet
Somehow humans have turned their need
Into an all engulfing greed.
Plundering the earth, we’ve killed and polluted –
The amassing of riches is what’s being saluted.
But it’s not by possessions we measure our worth
It’s the role that we play for our time here on earth.
Be thankful if you’ve food each day,
A place to sleep and time for play,
The nature all round you, the sky above,
But most of all for the ones you love.
